Looking at wikis as purely content creation is missing a hugh part of what makes wikis wonderful.  This is what many people see because Wikipedia is the best known wiki and it's outward face is purely about content.

The Wiki Way is a way of working together collaboratively.

There are millions of wiki that people use together and alone.  Looked at as a whole, wiki is a huge social media 4 change, intrinsically.  There are fewer, but still many, that are  dedicated as a content base to change.
